LaVar and Lila relocated to Winnemucca in the 70s for the potato industry, residing there for 30 years. In retirement, they moved to Riggins, Idaho, creating a sub-division along the Little Salmon River. Lila, dubbed "The Happy Hooker," excelled in Salmon and Steelhead fishing, making it a beloved family hobby.
