Chandrayaan 3 Launch

Isro declared the end of a 24-hour “launch rehearsal,” which simulated every step of the launch preparation and procedure.

 In Short

  • This marks the fourth operational flight of LVM3
  • Chandrayaan-3 will attempt a soft landing on the Moon
  • Chandrayaan-3 is expected to reach the Moon by the end of August

The planned Chandrayaan-3 mission’s launch preparation and procedure have been successfully simulated by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). On July 14, the 3900-kilogram spacecraft is slated to lift out from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

The 24-hour “launch rehearsal,” which simulated the whole launch preparation and process, was announced by ISRO as having been successful. Additionally, the group unveiled fresh images showing the LVM-3 rocket stacked on the launch pad.

This is LVM3’s fourth operational mission, with the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft being delivered to Geo Transfer Orbit (GTO).

The Chandrayaan-3 mission has an indigenous propulsion module, lander module, and rover, according to ISRO. Its main objective is to create and present new technology required for extraterrestrial missions.

After Chandrayaan-2’s aborted moon landing attempt four years ago, ISRO will make a second effort with Chandrayaan-3. After being injected into lunar orbit, the spacecraft, which is outfitted with a lander and rover, will separate from the Propulsion Module.

Chandrayaan-3 should get to the Moon by the end of August if the launch happens on July 14. It is anticipated that the trip will take 45–48 days, with the spacecraft possibly arriving at the Moon on August 23 or 24.

The spacecraft will perform a series of orbit-reducing manoeuvres to progressively decrease its altitude and create a circular orbit around the Moon once it enters the Moon’s gravitational field.
